So... I didn't exactly discover Rodney Smith all by myself. Emily Jensen showed me first and Slade has since informed that he showed Emily. However, the first time I saw his photos I was hooked. I absolutely love them. He puts a simple elegance in every one. I especially like a lot of his photos of women in huge, poofy, lovely dresses. I admire his use of light too. Also, when I look at a big group of one photographer's photos I usually prefer the black and white over color (or vice versa). Not with Rodney Smith! I like his black and white photos. And I also like his color ones. I've posted some of my current favorites. Let me know what you think of them!
