Person Observation #2

She is young, probably not more than 8 or 9. Her black hair is pulled back into a messy ponytail, while her bangs fall over her forehead. Her hair hasn't been washed in a while; that is clear from the shiny look of oil on it. She's slight, but probably taller than most girls her age. Her mouth is turned down; though she is neither explicitly smiling nor frowning. She looks as if she's seen too much for her age. Her eyes gaze at the world with a lack of innocence. It's as if she understands the problems of the world better than a wise old man. On her back is a pack shaped like a bear, with a leash attached which flows to her mother's hand. She seems hyper-aware of everything going on around her, yet while her head darts around to each person walking by, I can't help wondering if she really sees them.
